Office 2016 For Mac High Sierra

Both the 2011 and 2016 versions of Office were usable prior to the High Sierra update. AppleInsider 's testing found the 2016 suite to to be functional for the cautious under 15.34, and 2011 to be.

  1. 'In the support document, published shortly after the reveal of High Sierra, Microsoft declares that while the Office 2016 suite of applications from unreleased version 15.35 and later do work.

Office 2016 for Mac is fully supported on macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

If you encounter issues using Office 2016 for Mac, please send us feedback so we can address them. In Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, you can click on the Send a Smile icon in the top-right of the app. For Outlook, choose Contact Support from the Help menu.

15.34 and earlier

These versions are not supported on 10.13. In some cases, you may not be able to launch the Office apps. For example, users will see the following error message when attempting to launch Outlook 2016 ver. 15.34:

If you installed Outlook 2016 ver. 15.34 or earlier, and are not being offered an update to 15.35 or later, download the latest Office 2016 for Mac Suite Installer here.

ISSUE: A recent software update for Microsoft Office on Mac computers can prevent Outlook from working properly. If your Mac is running macOS High Sierra and you install update 16.12 for Outlook 2016, then Outlook will repeatedly (every 30 seconds or so) prompt for your email password.

RESOLUTION:

Since individual updates for Office on Mac cannot be uninstalled, the workaround for affected systems entails backing up certain files*, removing Microsoft Office, then reinstalling Office. Remember that you can still always access email via the Outlook Web App, https://owa.eku.edu.

  • Third, choose Manual Updates so you can skip this version of Outlook until a fix is published.
